The little Anterran

Story introduction

After two years of fighting the Overlord's schemes, Isagi was best known as 'Public Nuisance number one'. Most of the Overlord's personal henchmen had been put into early retirement by the young warrior and his band of renegades.

One day, Isagi noticed his troops were getting tired of fighting the Overlord's warriors, so he decided to take his troop of rebels to the Overlord's palace and have a party. Realizing that that approach wasn't the right thing to do, he decided to first free Anterras from the Overlord's influence, and then to have a party inside the castle.

Getting into the fortress was easy, just a few carefully placed Grav-force devices here and there, and hopefully the kitchen wouldn't be destroyed. Getting to the Dark Overlord wasn't as simple. Isagi and his band of rebels had to battle their way through the last of the Overlord's henchmen.

The last henchmen that Isagi encountered was an Anterran mage. The young warrior had never seen one before, but he instinctively knew they were dangerous. No one had ever beaten an Anterran mage in battle, or in volleyball for that matter.

As soon as he saw them, the mage threw a spell to destroy Isagi and his friends. The little Anterran was untouched, but his band of valiant warriors were blasted out of existence.

Almost instinctively, Isagi attacked the spell-caster with all his speed. That didn't have any effect, the mage was protected by an invisible force field. The Dark Overlord had ensured the young hero lost to his storming mage.

The battle raged on, Isagi released beams of pure kinetic force at the mage, only to have them bounce off and destroy parts of the lavish palace. The wiry old mage responded by beating Isagi on the head with his magical staff.

It was during this battle that Isagi found his only weakness - magic. His mind and body could not cope with it. That, or he couldn't withstand prolonged clubbings on the forehead. The mage had defeated him, knocked him unconscious, with a dwoemered rod.

Then the mage tried to disintegrate Isagi's body. He threw the most powerful magicks he knew, but none succeeded. Isagi's death could not be accomplished by any mortal or Anterran force - only by Death itself.
